Vital Meals funded for Malnourished School Kids

The Yellow Umbrella Foundation provided funding to the Perth Filipino Dance Troupe last year, to help support their charitable work both here in Western Australia and abroad in the Philippines.

The funds were combined with other donors and sponsors and were able to aid the success of a number of key projects, including providing meals to manourished children in the Philipines and suport for a Perth Homeless charity.

The Yellow Umbrella Foundation’s funds were able to supoprt 34 malnourished children from Antipolo Elementary School Philippines. This project was coordinated by one of the PFDT members directly. The meal project was handled with utmost honesty and integrity. Out of the 34 children in the program, only 2 did not achieve the ideal weight, due to a lot of factors surrounding the kids at that time. All children deserve to be well nourished and fed adequately, to enable them to be in the best position to learn and benefit from their classes at school. Meeting the basic nutrition needs of impoverished chidren allows them to have that opportunity.

For this year raised funds, the PFDT has expanded the program to 5 Children's Elementary Schools across the Philippines as beneficiaries. They will also join Perth Homeless Group as one of their community Services for Homeless people in Perth .
